The Tempest
The Tempest, one of Shakespeare's last plays, opens on a stormy remote island ruled by the exiled duke Prospero. Driven from Milan after disappearing into books and ideas while rivals stole his throne, Prospero arrives on the island with his young daughter Miranda and becomes a master of magical powers. When his betrayers sail near, he unleashes a mighty storm that shipwrecks them on his island, confronting everyone with old vendettas and new choices.
Identities are scrambled and the human experience crystallizes.
